Why Do People Love Tropical Destinations? (Answered)

The past few months, I’ve had a handful of people ask the question, “why do you love tropical destinations?”

I never thought I’d see the day where I was explaining why I love tropical destinations, but I get it. Not everyone’s a beach person.

So, here’s the top 8 reasons why I love tropical destinations, that I think most tropical lovers could agree with.

8. Crystal Clear Water

There’s nothing quite like arriving at a tropical destination and seeing the clarity of the ocean. When you witness clarity that’s as clear as the water in a pool, it’s hard to describe the feeling.

It’s usually such a drastic difference from the clarity of the water in lakes or even the majority of beaches around the world.

It also puts my mind more at ease, knowing that if a curious sea creature came to visit, I’d be able to see it.

7. Palm Trees

Palm trees, coupled with the ocean breeze, will relax the most stressed person. I guess it really just comes down to one thing… being surrounded by nature.

I think I can speak for most tropical vacation lovers when I say, palm trees put my mind at ease.

Watching palm trees sway, slowly back and forth from the wind, is one of the most soothing things you could ever do.

6. Exotic Creatures

There are a plethora of exotic creatures that you’ll find in tropical climates. One of my favorites being monkeys.

I mean, c’mon… just look at those little guys!

Most people travel to experience new things they would’ve never seen or done in their home country. Not only do I love going to tropical destinations because of monkeys, but there are also so many exotic sea creatures.

5. Fresh Seafood

Tropical destinations have fresh seafood because… well obvious reasons – they’re surrounded by the sea.

In most cases, it’ll be cheaper because they don’t need to transport it far and it’ll be the best tasting seafood you’ll ever have.

The warm climates are also perfect to grow tropical fruits, such as pineapple, mangos, and coconuts.

4. Water Activities

Snorkeling, jet-skiing, parasailing – these are all water activities that go hand in hand with tropical destinations.

A major part of why I love tropical destinations is because of the crystal clear water, which makes it perfect for snorkeling.

There are so many accessible water activities that you can do at these tropical places, it’s almost impossible to list all of them.

3. Culture

This one applies to basically anyone that enjoys traveling. In most cases, your trip isn’t complete without immersing yourself in the culture of the destination.

Learning the history of the places you go, really is so important. You gain a greater understanding of the destination you’re visiting.

Another main reason why I love to go to tropical destinations, but really traveling in general.

2. Calming Sounds

There’s a reason people fall asleep to the sounds of the waves crashing on the shore.

It’s relaxing.

Waking up to birds chirping and the waves crashing, is such a magical combination.

There’s really nothing much more to say, other than tropical destinations have sounds that will calm you.

1. Sunshine

The abundance of sunshine at tropical destinations is the main reason I love traveling to them.

Everyone needs vitamin D to be happy and healthy. And… sunshine can provide you with it!

It’s no surprise that sunshine will change your mood. I always imagine taking a dip in the ocean and then drying off in the crispy sun (I smile just thinking of that)

That simple combination (paired with the others) is the main reason why I love tropical destinations.
